About this policy
This policy describes how EVcart Australia handles personal information in connection with this website, orders and support. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@evcart.com.au. Applicable privacy laws and any rights they provide continue to apply.
Information we handle
- Contact and order information: email address, items, selected options, quantities, order references, order status and amounts.
- Delivery information: name, address and phone number supplied during checkout to our payment and fulfilment providers.
- Support correspondence and information you choose to provide, such as product photos, vehicle details or proof of purchase.
- Technical information handled by our hosting and service providers, such as IP addresses, browser information and request or security logs.
- Browser-stored cart contents, vehicle selection, checkout references, campaign labels and marketing consent choices.
Stripe processes payment card details on its checkout page. Our website does not collect or store your full card number or card security code. We receive payment and order references and status information needed to manage your purchase. Do not email us card details or other sensitive information that is not needed for support.
How we use information
We use information to process payments, arrange delivery, manage orders and returns, answer enquiries, prevent fraud, maintain website security and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Without information needed for an order, we may not be able to supply it. General enquiries can be made without providing unnecessary personal details.
Who receives information
Information may be shared where needed with Stripe for payments, Replit for website hosting and infrastructure, delivery carriers and fulfilment providers for delivery, and professional advisers or authorities where legally required. Each provider may handle information under its own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.
Providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States or other countries where their services operate. The countries involved depend on the provider and service. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your order. See Stripe’s privacy policy and Replit’s privacy policy.
Browser storage and optional marketing measurement
We use browser storage to remember your cart and vehicle choice, maintain checkout continuity and store your consent choice. Campaign labels from links may be retained during your session to preserve the source of a visit. Clearing browser storage may reset these features.
Optional advertising measurement, such as a Meta Pixel, operates only when configured and you grant marketing consent. When active, it may share browsing and purchase-event information, such as product identifiers and order value, with Meta. Choosing not to allow this does not prevent shopping. If enabled, use “Ad measurement choices” in the footer to change your choice. You can also manage cookies and storage in your browser.
Retention and security
We retain information as needed to fulfil orders, handle enquiries and disputes and satisfy applicable recordkeeping obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the legal requirements that apply. We use reasonable safeguards and restrict access to information where appropriate; no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us to access or correct your personal information, ask about retention or request deletion where lawful. We may need to verify your identity and retain records required by law. If we cannot meet a request, we will explain the reason and any available review process.
